Sauna Terms

Last Updated: 26 August 2026

These terms apply to sauna sessions booked at sauna.setwild.com and should be read together with the Set Wild Terms of Service at setwild.com/terms. Set Wild is a trading name of Vespera Holidays LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (Company Number 16230345). Contact: hello@setwild.com.

1. Your Session

  • Sessions are private hire for your group only, for a maximum of 6 guests.
  • Sessions are booked in one-hour blocks starting at half past the hour. Arrive at your booked start time: the first 10 minutes is for parking, changing, and getting ready while we finish preparing the sauna, and your sauna time runs from 10 minutes after your start time until the end of your final block. One block gives you 50 minutes in the sauna, two consecutive blocks 110 minutes, and three 170 minutes.
  • Session end times are strict. Our team will give you a 5-minute warning before the end of your session, and you must leave the sauna at your booked end time so we can prepare it for the next guests.
  • Late arrivals do not receive extra sauna time — your session ends at its booked end time regardless of when you arrive.
  • The last session of each day ends at 8.30pm.
  • A member of the Set Wild team is on site throughout your session to manage the wood-fired stove and assist you. Please follow their instructions at all times.
  • Facilities include the wood-fired sauna, cold plunge, lakeside decking area, and a warm shower and toilet. Please bring your own towels, swimwear, and drinking water.
  • Parking is available for a maximum of 3 cars.
  • Sessions are for adults aged 18 and over unless agreed with us in writing beforehand.
  • Location: The Lake, New Hall, Clacton Road, Horsley Cross, Essex, CO11 2NU.

2. Payment and Cancellation

  • Full payment is taken at the time of booking.
  • Bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable. We do not offer refunds if you cancel, arrive late, or do not attend.
  • We may cancel any session at any time and for any reason — including weather, safety concerns, or operational reasons. If we cancel your session, you will receive a full refund of the amount paid, and this will be our only liability to you.
  • We are not liable for travel or other costs you incur in connection with a cancelled session.
  • Discount codes are for guests staying in our lake accommodation, may be withdrawn at any time, and cannot be exchanged for cash.

3. Health Declaration

Sauna heat and cold water immersion place significant stress on the body. By booking, you confirm on behalf of yourself and everyone in your group that no participant:

  • Has a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, or a circulatory condition
  • Has a respiratory condition aggravated by heat, steam, or cold water
  • Has epilepsy, or a history of fainting, dizziness, or seizures
  • Is pregnant, or has had recent surgery or illness
  • Will attend under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Has any other condition that makes the high heat of the sauna or the low temperature of the cold plunge unsafe for them

If you are unsure whether the sauna or cold plunge is safe for you, consult a doctor before booking. You must tell us before your session if the health status of anyone in your group changes after booking.

4. Assumption of Risk

Using a sauna, cold plunge, and lakeside facilities carries inherent risks, including but not limited to overheating, dehydration, fainting, cold water shock, slips and falls on wet surfaces, and burns from hot surfaces or the stove. By ticking the acceptance box when booking, you confirm that you accept these risks for yourself and your group, that you will use the facilities responsibly and follow our team's instructions, and that participation is at your own risk. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

5. During Your Session

  • Follow the instructions of the Set Wild team member on site at all times.
  • Do not pour anything on the stove or open the firebox — our team manages the stove.
  • No glass in the sauna, plunge, or decking areas.
  • Stay hydrated, leave the sauna if you feel unwell, and never enter the cold plunge alone.
  • Swimming in the lake is not part of your session and is not permitted.
  • We may end a session without refund if behaviour puts anyone at risk or breaches these terms.

6. General

We may cancel a booking where these terms are breached or where, acting reasonably, we consider a session cannot be run safely — section 2 applies to any such cancellation. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
